    Yes. You can sign up to the Bust a Move plan if you’re renting.

    I also have solar, can I sign up to the Bust a Move plan?

    Absolutely. Residential solar customers are eligible for the Bust a Move plan.

    If you have net metered solar, you’ll receive a feed-in rate of 8c/kWh.

    If you are on an ACT Government feed-in rate, your rate won’t change.

    I’m a business customer, am I eligible for the Bust a Move plan?

    No, sorry. Business customers aren’t eligible for the Bust a Move plan. We have other competitive plans available to you. Compare plans online or call us on 13 14 93 and we’ll assist you to find the best plan for you.

    I have electricity only, can I be on the Bust a Move plan?

    Yes! Electricity only and dual-fuel customers are all eligible for the Bust a Move plan.

    What are the electricity and gas rates?

    By signing up to the Bust a Move plan, you’ll lock in a rate that is 8% less^ than the electricity reference price—equal to one month of FREE energy*. Once you’re connected to your new plan, you can have peace of mind that your rate is set for 12 months.

    I’m on a demand or time-of-use pricing plan, can I choose the Bust a Move plan and keep my current pricing plan?

    Yes! The Bust a Move plan is based on standing offer pricing, which means your pricing plan will stay the same.

    Do I have to go on direct debit EvenPay?

    No. You don’t have to set up EvenPay to sign up to the Bust a Move plan, but it is an option for you if you would like to smooth your quarterly bills into smaller, more manageable payments.

    With EvenPay, you'll have set, regular payments—so you’ll always know how much you need to pay and when. Choose between monthly or fortnightly billing options, and every six months, we’ll recalculate your payment amount based on your usage. You’ll only ever pay for the energy you use.

  • Do I need a new meter?

    No, you can choose this plan regardless of your existing meter type.

    Are there any associated fees?

    No. There’s no fee to sign up to the Bust a Move plan or to terminate your contract if you decide later that it doesn’t work for you.

    What if I move home again?

    If you move during the 12-month benefit period, your Bust a Move plan will end. If the Bust a Move plan is still available when you next move, and you still meet the eligibility criteria, you can sign up to the plan at your new address. If it’s no longer available, you can choose a new energy plan that works for you and your new home. We can assist you if you’re unsure.

    There will be no exit fee to close your account before the end of the benefit period. There may be a moving fee to change your address as well as other associated moving fees. If you’d like to learn more about this, check the following ACT pricing brochures:

    When will the plan start?

    For existing ActewAGL customers, your plan term will start as soon as you accept the terms and conditions.

    If you’re new to ActewAGL, your plan term will start when it suits you best—past, future or right away.

  • Things you need to know

    The ActewAGL Bust a Move plan (“the Plan”) is an Ongoing Market Retail Contract with a benefit period for your electricity or electricity and gas.

    Your first benefit period commences from when you accept the Plan or from when your account commences with ActewAGL if ActewAGL is not your current energy retailer.

    Your first benefit period will be one of the following, depending on your tariff type:

    Single rate: 8% off the electricity reference price for 12 months (in the form of 1 month of 100% discount on electricity supply and usage charges for the final month of the benefit period) and 1 month of 100% discount on gas supply and usage charges for the final month of a 12 month benefit period.

    Single rate with controlled load: 8% off the electricity reference price for 12 months (in the form of 1 month of 100% discount on electricity supply and usage charges for the final month of the benefit period) and 1 month of 100% discount on gas supply and usage charges for the final month of a 12 month benefit period.

    Time-of-use: 8% off the electricity reference price for 12 months (in the form of 1 month of 100% discount on electricity supply and usage charges for the final month of the benefit period) and 1 month of 100% discount on gas supply and usage charges for the final month of a 12 month benefit period.

    Time-of-use with controlled load: 8% off the electricity reference price for 12 months (in the form of 1 month of 100% discount on electricity supply and usage charges for the final month of the benefit period) and 1 month of 100% discount on gas supply and usage charges for the final month of a 12 month benefit period.

    The above discounts off the electricity reference price are based on an indicative customer in your region. Your bill will depend on your actual usage.

    Any discounts or credits will not apply to any miscellaneous ActewAGL charges, Greenchoice products or any government taxes, fees, charges or levies.

    The Plan is only available to residential customers with electricity or both electricity and natural gas supplied to their premises.

    The Plan is not available in conjunction with any other plans, offers or discounts. 

    Under ActewAGL’s Small Generator Buyback Scheme, a solar buyback rate of 8.0c/kWh applies to the Plan.

    Following acceptance of the Plan, you will be supplied with information relevant to the Plan including pricing, terms and conditions, a single written disclosure statement and cancellation and cooling-off notice via your preferred contact method either email or post.

    You can cancel your agreement anytime by notifying ActewAGL in writing at ActewAGL Retail, 40 Bunda Street, Canberra, ACT, 2600; by calling 13 14 93 or emailing assist@actewagl.com.au

    You have the right to a Standard Retail Contract with the designated retailer for your area that may not include a credit or a discount on your electricity or gas account.

    You can raise disputes with ActewAGL. If you’re unhappy with the resolution provided, ACT residents can raise the dispute with the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT) by calling 02 6207 7740. NSW residents can raise the dispute with the Energy and Water Ombudsman NSW (EWON) by calling 1800 246 545.

    ActewAGL will contact you before your energy plan end date about a new benefit period. Your contract may be continued if you do not contact ActewAGL by the expiry of the energy plan.

    If you are not currently an ActewAGL customer, ActewAGL will become your retailer for electricity and gas after your meter is read next which may take up to 4 months.

    • ACT residential established site only.
    • Business days only. If you’re moving today and need an urgent electricity connection please complete an online request before 1pm. Alternatively, you can call us before 2pm to arrange a connection.
    • Electricity supply only.
    • Additional fees may apply.
    • Resident must ensure there is safe and unhindered access to premises electricity meter.
    • If the electricity at the premises is not connected, the resident must switch off the main power switch/switches on the switchboard.
    • Follow and implement any other connection instructions provided by ActewAGL.

    Situations resulting in ineligibility for same day connection:

    • Request to connect to a premises that has not had electricity connected for 12 months or more.
    • Request to connect to a premises deemed unsafe by ActewAGL.
    • When delays are due to circumstances beyond ActewAGL’s control (for example extreme weather, natural disasters).
    • The meter at the premises is not accessible or removed.
    • The meter is not in working order, or is non-compliant.
    • Wrong address or connection date was provided – or is mistakenly believed that the power was not connected when in fact the power was connected.
    • When ActewAGL has requested the disconnection and the reason for the disconnection has not been rectified.
