You’re eligible for the Solar Advantage plan if:
- You’re an ACT or NSW residential customer with solar.
- You have a home, home time-of-use or ACT home demand pricing plan. If you’re on a different pricing plan, you can move to one of these to take up the Solar Advantage plan.
- You have electricity only, or electricity and gas. Gas only customers aren’t eligible for this plan.

Absolutely. We’d be delighted to welcome you onboard and better harness the power of the sun. The Solar Advantage plan is available to both new and existing ACT and NSW residential customers with solar power.
The plan term will start on the day you accept the offer, whether that’s online or over the phone. You don’t need to wait for your next meter reading to take place.
Electricity and gas pricing will be billed at the applicable rates outlined in the ACT and NSW electricity and gas pricing brochures.
Pricing is subject to change and will usually change on 1 July each year. We will notify you of any changes to the prices.

No. There’s no fee to sign up to the Solar Advantage plan or to terminate your contract if you decide later that it doesn’t work for you.
If you move during the 12-month benefit period, your Solar Advantage plan will end. You can then choose a new energy plan that works for you and your new home. We can help you if you’re unsure.
There will be no exit fee to close your account before the end of the benefit period. We do have a moving fee for changing your address and there may also be other associated moving fees. Contact us to find out more.
No, you don’t need a new meter to accept this plan. You can choose this plan regardless of your existing meter type.
It’s available with home, home time-of-use and ACT home demand pricing plans.
If you’re an ACT customer currently on home saver or home saver plus, you’ll need to move to the home pricing plan to take up the Solar Advantage plan.
Things you need to know
The Solar Advantage Plan is an Ongoing Market Retail Contract with a benefit period for your electricity or electricity and gas.
Your first benefit period will be for a period of 12 months.
You understand and agree that if, at any time, you fail to comply with these terms and conditions, you may not be eligible to receive the benefits of this offer.
Your discount will not apply to any miscellaneous ActewAGL charges, Greenchoice products or any government taxes, fees, charges or levies.
This offer is only available to NSW and ACT residential customers.
This offer is not available in conjunction with any other plans, offers or discounts.
After signing up to this offer you will receive information relevant to your plan including pricing, terms and conditions, a single written disclosure statement and a cooling-off notice.
You have the right to a Standard Retail Contract with the designated retailer for your area that may not include a credit or a discount on your electricity or gas account.
You can raise disputes with ActewAGL. If you’re unhappy with the resolution provided, you can raise the dispute with the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal by calling (02) 6207 7740.
ActewAGL will contact you before your energy plan end date about a new benefit period. Your contract may be continued if you do not contact ActewAGL by the expiry of the energy plan.
If you are not currently an ActewAGL customer, ActewAGL will become your retailer for electricity after your meter is read next which may take up to 4 months.
