1.  These Terms and Conditions apply to the Energy Saving Solutions – Heating and cooling upgrade (Offer).

2.  The Offer is available to ActewAGL customers when they upgrade an existing Eligible heating system or Eligible hot water system with a new Eligible high efficiency system. Eligible Appliances are contained in the table below (Eligible Appliances).

3.  The Offer is only available to ACT residents for quotes accepted from 21 January February 2021 and may be withdrawn without notice.

4.  The Offer is not available to residential premises undergoing development or refurbishment under an existing development approval.

5.  The Offer is only available to ActewAGL customers who have an active electricity account with ActewAGL at the time of purchasing the Eligible Appliance.

7.  The credit will be applied quarterly to the customer’s ActewAGL electricity account over the annual period as defined in the Eligible Appliances table above. Should the customer close their ActewAGL account, the credit expires and will not be re-credited if the customer re-opens an ActewAGL electricity account. ActewAGL may make an exception and apply the remaining credit if evidence is provided to energyefficiency@actewagl.com.au demonstrating one of the following circumstances applies: the customer has relocated outside of the ActewAGL region or the customer is deceased. If ActewAGL agrees to make an exception, any remaining credit will be applied to the finalised account and will be refunded through direct debit.

8.  If the customer moves to another property and stays with ActewAGL, the credit on the electricity account will move with the customer. It is the customer’s sole responsibility to advise ActewAGL about the move to ensure that the credit will be credited to the new property.

9.  The discount off the costs of installation applies to the person who is paying for the energy efficiency upgrade (if they are a holder of an ActewAGL electricity account). The credit on the ActewAGL electricity account applies to the person living in the property which received an energy efficiency upgrade. This can be an owner occupier or a tenant (if they are a holder of an ActewAGL electricity account).

10. Existing appliances are required to be decommissioned and removed from the premises by the authorised installer.

11.  ActewAGL determines the eligibility of the appliances to be installed based on various state and federal product registers, the manufacturer’s instructions, Australian standards, Energy Efficiency Scheme Codes of Practice. For the purposes of this Offer, only appliances nominated by ActewAGL will be an Eligible Appliance.

12.  Where applicable, eligible concession card holders or households experiencing financial hardship will receive a higher discount.

13.  Eligible concession card holders must present one of the following concession cards which show that the concession card holder’s residential address matches the installation address:

• Government Energy Concession Card

• Commonwealth Health Care Card

• Commonwealth Pension Concession Card

• Commonwealth Seniors Health Card

• Commonwealth Low Income Health Care Card

• Commonwealth Disability Support Pension Card

• War Widows Repatriation Card

• Department of Veterans Affairs Pension Card

• Department of Veterans Affairs TPI Card (gold)

• Department of Veterans Affairs Repatriation Health Card (gold).

14.  Households not eligible for the concession cards listed above but experiencing financial hardship, will need to either: a) be referred by a specified community organisation; or b) access an energy retailer’s hardship program, to be eligible for a concession rebate under the offer.

16.  This Offer is not available for government projects, new homes, commercial projects or property developments and properties that are listed on the Asbestos Response Taskforce’s list of affected properties. 

17.  To receive the discount and credit, the home owner must sign the consumer declaration on the Activity Record Form. ActewAGL is required to collect and record the information on the Activity Record Form under the Energy Efficiency (Cost of Living) Improvement Act 2012.

18.  Attendance may be required by the customer for a post installation inspection and customer handover. When an installer is at the property, a person over the age of 18 must be available and onsite at all times.

19.  ActewAGL reserves its right to change these terms and conditions at any time and remove or otherwise modify the discount offered.

20.  All amounts include GST unless otherwise stated.

21.  ActewAGL is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). ActewAGL collects personal information in order to conduct the Offer and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers and reward suppliers.
