Our evEnergy Saver plan is a great-value option for electric vehicle owners in the ACT who want to save on charging. Charge your EV for as little as $6+ during the week and get a bonus 4-hour free# charging window on the weekend. 

This plan offers low-cost times to schedule your EV charging.

+$6 based on fully charging a 50kWh Tesla Model 3 at 12c/kWh during off-peak periods. This is dependent on the charging of your vehicle and charger. 



Plan eligibility:
To be eligible for this plan, you must have an electric vehicle and a smart meter. If you need to upgrade to a smart meter, ActewAGL can organise this for you.

  • What is the evEnergy Saver plan?

    The evEnergy Saver plan is designed for electric vehicle owners looking to maximise their energy savings while charging their vehicle.

    Benefits include:

    • Four-hour free# home charging window on weekends between 12 noon and 2pm AEST on Saturdays and Sundays.
    • 12c/kWh between 12am and 6am AEST seven days a week.
    • Free upgrade from basic meter to smart meter.^
    • No lock-in contract.

    The evEnergy Saver plan is available to ACT residential customers who own an electric vehicle and have a smart meter.

    To be eligible, you must have a smart meter, which can be organised by a local ActewAGL Electrification Consultant at no cost to you.

  • I am a business customer. Am I eligible for the evEnergy Saver plan?

    Business customers are not eligible for the evEnergy Saver plan at this time. However, we have other offers for business customers and recommend you discuss your needs with the ActewAGL Business Energy Solutions team. The evEnergy Saver plan is available to ACT residential customers who own an electric vehicle and have a smart meter.

Glossary - plan terminology explained.
  • Supply charge: A fixed price per day.
  • Usage charge: A price per unit of usage measured in kilowatt hours (kWh) for the electricity you use at your premises.
  • Single rate: Your electricity usage is charged at the same price the entire day, without peak, shoulder or off-peak periods.
  • Time-of-use rates: Different electricity prices apply at different times of the day, possibly during peak, shoulder or off-peak periods, or different seasons.
  • Controlled load: Electricity usage for specific appliances that is metered separately from the rest of your property. 
  • Demand charge: A charge for the maximum demand placed on the electricity network at your premises during a defined period of time, measured in kilowatts (kW) or kilovolt amps (kVA). 
  • Feed-in tariff: You receive a credit on your electricity bill for exporting the excess renewable energy your home generates back to the grid.
  • Reference price: A benchmark electricity price set by the government. It is a calculation of what an average customer on a standing offer would pay for their electricity per year.
