Easter is a time when most Canberrans look forward to eating copious amounts of chocolate and spending time with their families. But not all Canberrans have the opportunity to celebrate Easter, due to hardship or homelessness.
This Easter, our local Contact Centre staff wanted to help lift the spirits of those doing it tough by visiting the Uniting Care Early Morning Centre to deliver chocolate eggs.
The Early Morning Centre has been serving the Canberra community for decades, providing a warm, safe space and meals for more than 100 displaced Canberrans.
This small gesture was also an opportunity for our staff to acknowledge the almost 1500 people who are homeless or sleeping rough in the ACT. ActewAGL remains committed to supporting Canberrans and fostering a business culture of kindness.
