Who is eligible for the EVolve plan?
The EVolve plan is available to ACT and NSW residential customers with electricity, or both electricity and natural gas at your property, and a plug-in electric vehicle.

I rent my house, can I have the EVolve plan?
Yes. You can sign up to the EVolve plan if you’re renting.

I also have solar, can I sign up to the EVolve plan?
Absolutely. Residential solar customers are eligible for EVolve plan.

    • If you have net-metered solar, you’ll receive a feed-in rate of 8c/kWh.
    • If you have gross-metered solar and are on an ACT Government feed-in rate, your rate won’t change.

I’m a business customer, am I eligible for the EVolve plan?
No, sorry. Business customers aren’t eligible for the EVolve plan. We have other competitive plans available to you. Compare plans online or call us on 13 14 93 and we’ll assist you to find the best plan for you.

I have a gas only plan with ActewAGL, can I be on the EVolve plan?
No, sorry. As the EVolve plan is for customers who own an electric vehicle, gas only customers aren’t eligible for the EVolve plan.

I’m with another retailer, can I switch to ActewAGL to take up the EVolve plan?
Absolutely. We’d be delighted to welcome you onboard!

I’m with another retailer, can I switch to ActewAGL to take up the EVolve plan?
Absolutely. We’d be delighted to welcome you onboard!
If you are not an ActewAGL electricity customer and you agree to transfer your electricity plan to us you are welcome to accept the plan. Why not package up both your EVolve plan with gas to get a great discount on gas charges too?

  • When will the plan start?
For existing ActewAGL customers, your plan term will start as soon as you accept the terms and conditions.

If you’re a new ActewAGL customer, your plan term will start once we’ve received your meter reading after the cooling off period. Depending on when your next meter reading is, this may take up to three months. If you’d like to start sooner, we can arrange a special out-of-cycle meter read at a cost.

How does the EVolve plan compare to my current plan?
If you’re not sure if the EVolve plan is right for you, our team of local energy experts can provide personalised, tailored energy advice to help you decide.
Connect with them via email at assist@actewagl.com.au or over the phone by calling 13 14 93 (Monday–Friday, 8am–6pm).

What are the electricity and gas rates?
Customers who sign up for the EVolve plan in the ACT will be billed at Home time-of-use rates.
Customers who sign up for the EVolve plan in Endeavour Energy regions in NSW will be billed at Home seasonal time-of-use rates.
Customers who sign up to the plan in Essential Energy regions in NSW will be billed at Home time-of-use (interval meter) rates.

The rates are outlined in the following pricing brochures:
ACT electricity standard contract pricing schedule
ACT natural gas standard contract pricing schedule
NSW electricity standard contract pricing schedule
NSW natural gas standard contract pricing schedule

Do I have to go on direct debit?
It’s not a requirement to sign up for direct debit to accept the EVolve plan but we encourage you to take up EvenPay as your payment option.

By choosing direct debit EvenPay, we’ll smooth your annual energy costs over smaller, predictable fortnightly or monthly payments. Remove bill shock and better manage your budget but always knowing exactly how much you’re going to pay and when. Every six months we’ll recalculate your payment amount based on your usage, so you only pay for the energy you use.

  • Do I need a new electricity meter to sign up to the EVolve plan?

The EVolve plan is only available to customers with an existing electricity smart meter or are willing to upgrade to a new meter.
If you don’t currently have a smart meter and want to sign up to the EVolve plan, we’ll organise the upgrade for you—usually at not addition cost. There is not often a cost to upgrade your meter but if additional work is required to fit the new meter, there may be additional costs involved. We will let you know before the work is completed if this is the case. See New meter information.

    Are there any associated fees?

No. There’s no fee to sign up to the EVolve plan or to terminate your contract if you decide later that it doesn’t work for you.

    What if I move home?

If you move during the 12-month benefit period, your EVolve plan will end. If the plan is still available when you move, and you still meet the eligibility criteria, you can sign up to the plan at your new address. If it’s no longer available, you can choose a new energy plan that works for you and your new home. We can help you if you’re unsure.

There will be no exit fee to close your account before the end of the benefit period. We do have a moving fee for changing your address and there may also be other associated moving fees. Contact us to find out more.

For NSW customers, your first benefit period will be a bill credit of $156 per year, applied evenly to each quarterly electricity bill, and 11% off gas supply and usage charges for 12 months.

Your first benefit period commences when you accept the Plan, or from when your account starts with ActewAGL, if ActewAGL is not your current energy retailer.

The Plan is only available to residential customers if you have electricity, or both electricity and natural gas at your property, and a plug-in electric vehicle.

The ActewAGL EVolve plan is only available if you have an existing electricity smart meter or agree to upgrade to a new meter.
