ENERGY USE
Switch off your second fridge to save.
With 33% of Australians having two or more fridges in active use, running an extra cooling appliance is common. However, fridges account for up to 13% of your energy bill, so evaluate whether you really need a second fridge and only keep it switched on when you need it.
A full fridge is more energy-efficient than an empty one, so when your second fridge is emptier, it may be wise to turn it off. Turning it off and unplugging it for six months of the year will help you save on energy costs. Don't forget to check it's set at the right temperature, between 2°C and 4°C.
