Braddon, one of Canberra’s coolest suburbs, is known for its artisan coffee roasters, offbeat cafes, and innovative Modern Australian restaurants. It's a quirky hub where indie fashion boutiques, gourmet grocers, and unique homeware stores bring charm to residential developments.
And now, Braddon has their first public EV fast charging station thanks to ActewAGL. Located on the east side of Northbourne, this new station means EV owners can kiss range anxiety goodbye and plug into the future of worry-free driving.
Nestled amongst high-density housing, the new charging station will address the needs of EV growth in the region.
“We are excited to offer this new charging option in Braddon, a vibrant area with a high uptake of electric vehicles. This charger is not only convenient for residents and apartment dwellers but also for tourists and shoppers in the Braddon area. With the capacity to expand as demand grows, this site is future proofed to meet the evolving needs of our community,” said Rachael Turner, General Manager of ActewAGL Retail.
The ActewAGL fast charger will alleviate the stress of running out of battery on your way home, with a powerful 75kW capacity. The DC fast charger with CCS2 plugs can deliver up to 450km of range per hour, or approximately 75km every ten minutes, providing a fast and efficient charging solution for EV owners.
In partnership with Evie Networks, ActewAGL has been expanding and upgrading its EV public charging network in Canberra and surrounds – with 15 existing stations and plans to expand to 24 by the end of the year.
With a mission of innovation in the EV industry, ActewAGL have also rolled out their offering for apartment dwellings to have their own dedicated charging stations.
The Braddon fast charging station was made possible with the assistance of the ACT Government under the Public EV Charging Infrastructure Fund.
ActewAGL’s commitment to progressing the uptake of lower emission EVs was recognised at the 2023 Climate Choices Business Awards, when its evHub was awarded Winner of the Zero Emissions Early Movers category. ActewAGL’s evHub continues to evolve, with new offers for home charging products and energy plans tailored for EV owners.
